FOXROCK THEATRICALS is a new touring production company focusing on language based theatre, with a particular emphasis on the work of Nobel laureate Samuel Beckett.

Foxrock's roots lie in the BUCKETS O' BECKETT festivals produced in Chicago during the 1990s. Buckets O' Beckett was an annual event that presented all 19 of Beckett's plays over a five year period, garnering critical acclaim and a growing base of regular attendees. As the festival grew in size and scope, it began to attract artists of national significance to work on the productions, directors like Frank Galati, Sheldon Patinkin, and Susan V. Booth, and actors like John Mahoney and Estelle Parsons.

For 2012/2013, we'll be offering a program of three Beckett shorts designed to work as an introductory experience for audiences unfamiliar with his blackly comic universe. These three plays work together to give audiences a portrait of Beckett, combining elements of his silent-film inspired physical comedy, his startling visual imagery, and his alternatingly comic and poetic language.

The productions will be staged by some of the same artists whose work inspired praise from critics around the country during the 1990s , allowing these directors, actors, and directors to have another chance to explore Beckett's universe in a new context, while still offering the excitement of the new and the physical vigor that made the original Buckets O' Beckett concept a popular success.
